Hart Gore/ Mean Man's Dream

Inspired by the bands of the time on SST (remember, they were no longer offering pure hardcore, but often what we called "jazzcore tinkering"), influenced by BAD BRAINS, SONIC YOUTH, SWANS, but brought up in the spirit of CRUCIFIX , MDC, DEAD KENNEDYS and Co., GORE created an instrumental sound that was extremely new for the Central European hardcore scene at the time, and which went through exactly this development twenty years before the current turn to singer-less, post-cor and post-metallic music. Maximum heaviness, repetitive riffs, highest intensity - without vocals, but with lyrics, at least as far as the records are concerned. "Hart Gore" and "Mean Man's Dream" were the first two albums released in 1986 and 1987, which, given the punk and hardcore sound that was otherwise popular at the time, seemed like aliens at a children's birthday party, but at least it turned out to be more moderate for GORE Success with reviews in the major British and American newspapers, the records sold relatively well and DJ god John Peel invited the band to three studio sessions.
