Clearly the “PANTERA” thing is a joke, because Canadian grinders Wake take influence from much much further beyond driven. Case in point, Wake’s new bludgeoner False, due via Handshake Inc on June 24th. The short and sweet 19-minute offering demonstrates the unit’s positively poisonous take on grindcore, punctuated by sludgy passages and dry-heave vocals. Sick shit, guys. But only in the best of ways.
