"On Taint's new album Secrets and Lies the rough, but clean vocals turned me on immediately. Together with the '70s rock riffs, this new album's amazingly groovy. They also dissociate themselves more and more from the Keelhaul sound although “Truimvirate” still has the same vibe as those Cleveland guys. In nine long songs the spirit of Led Zeppelin is summoned, in "What the Crow Saw" even a flute is included. It gives the album a very authentic feeling. The combination of sludge metal, '70s and postrock is flowing through the speakers one hour long. Producer Alex Newport (known for his work with the Melvins and his bands Fudge Tunnel and Nailbomb) has given these ex-punk rockers (the energy of punk is still surrounding) the perfect sound. A massive guitar sound to honor the glorious riff with basic drums and bass as point of departure.
