The Ação Direta reissue series continues. The fourth release is their 1994 masterpiece “…Baseado Em Fatos Reais…” (“Based on real facts”). It’s their iconic second studio album produced by João Gordo (Ratos de Porão) and R.H. Jackson and originally released via Devil Discos. This record is a cornerstone of the Brazilian hardcore scene, blending aggressive hardcore punk with thrash metal influences. True to its title, the lyrics focus on social and political realities in Brazil, moving away from abstract themes to confront immediate systemic issues. The album shows the group’s maturity by combining heaviness, speed, and sharp social criticism in lyrics that remain relevant more than three decades later. Intense and direct tracks reflect the band’s rebellious spirit, always connected to the contradictions and problems of reality. It features a fast, heavy sound characteristic of the industrial region of São Paulo, influenced by both European hardcore and classic crossover bands like D.R.I. and Agnostic Front. In comparison to later albums it’s still more rough and punk with sometimes melodic guitars and the unique, exquisite charm of latino hardcore.
